If you've always longed for that perfect Tuscan escape, surrounded by the soft golden light and rolling green countryside that Tuscany is famous for, Villa Colonica Tuori can make those dreams come true. This exquisite six-bedroom traditional farmhouse villa welcomes up to 12 guests, offering them a taste of that rural idyl just a short drive away from the fabulous city of Florence. With a personal chef ensuring your days start right with a delicious breakfast to sipping a glass of wine as the sun sets, this villa is everything you could wish for in a wonderfully secluded and peaceful setting.

Florence is a land loved by artists and writers, poets and musicians. It is a landscape that inspires and delights in equal measure, and at its heart is the town of Mugello. Home to some of Italy's most famous families (such as the Medicis), it's also a region where food and wine are vital cultural influences. If you have a passion for beauty, you'll be well rewarded here. It's also a big sports region, with the famous Poggio dei Medici golf club on offer, and the Mugello race track, which welcomes everything F1 and MotoGP racing every year.

Villa Colonica Tuori takes you well away from the roar of the crowds and the thunder of F1 cars and surrounds you with peace and tranquillity. Spread across three floors, it captures all the charm of a classic Tuscan farmhouse with beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. Local fabrics and tiles appear throughout the villa, bringing pops of colour and enlivening the character of each room to give it a unique personality. The heart of any Italian home is the kitchen, and the villa doesn’t disappoint, with marble counters and a personal wine cellar that’s well-stocked with local vintages. A dining room provides an intimate space for everyone to relax and enjoy a family meal. A recreation room houses a full-size pool table and is an excellent spot for some afternoon family games.

Five spacious bedrooms occupy the first floor, each with king-size beds and either ensuite bathrooms or access to a Jack-and-Jill bathroom shared by two of the bedrooms. An additional living area is also located on the first floor. The sixth bedroom is a double room with ensuite bathroom accessed via the courtyard on the lower ground floor, creating a little oasis for a couple who want additional privacy.

Surrounding the villa are sumptuous, beautifully-manicured gardens typical of the region. Slim 'paint-brush' trees and blousy flowerbeds filled with a burst of colourful blooms make this the kind of villa that could inspire you to break out the watercolours. If you prefer to start your day with a splash of warm water rather than a splash of colour, a large pool is yours to enjoy.

Tuscany

Tuscany

Tuscany is a charmed land, equally blessed by the genius of man and nature, and often by the combined efforts of both. Think of the vineyards: rows of baby green vines that manage somehow to march in arrow-straight formation up the gently rolling hillsides, bounded by single files of darker green cypress trees, snaking sandy roads leading to rust-colored farmhouses and moss-coated castles, symmetrically rounded hilltops surmounted by towns so homogeneous as to seem one single building. Every inch of land has been sculpted, first by the elements and then by generations of inhabitants whose goals were always twofold: make the land produce as much as possible, make the land as beautiful as possible. Tuscany enchants us today because it holds together as a region, from the tiniest hamlet to Florence the Magnificent. For the living proof, take a short walk one day along the sides of the Belvedere in Florence: you will leave behind the traffic and suddenly find yourself strolling down quiet lanes bounded by tall stone walls, cypress trees and creamy-colored villas.
