Overview

Goway Travel

This 12-day trip through Europe connects its two most fashionable cities, Paris and Milan, weaving through beautiful Switzerland and northern Italy en route.

A four night stay gives you time to explore Paris in depth. Spend a day exploring with your hop-on, hop-off bus pass, taking in up to fifty popular tourist spots around the city. Multilingual commentary will help you put your discoveries into context as you uncover the tales of Paris. The following day takes you off the tourist trail to the Fragonard Perfume Museum. The sensory feast continues with lunch at La Boutique des Saveurs, along with a wine tasting, ideal for beginners, connoisseurs, and everyone in between. Your last full day in Paris includes a walking tour from Palais Royal to Opera Garnier, exploring the secret passageways and back alleys of Paris.

Go on to Switzerland, and the often-mentioned, but rarely understood city of Geneva. See the UN headquarters, the Flower Clock, and the Old Town on a guided tour. Then perhaps opt for a cruise on Lake Geneva to admire the snow-capped mountains, Bellerive Castle and other sights, all with commentary as you pass by. Then drive to Annecy, where canals and colourful houses create one of the most unique villages in the Alps. Another Alpine village awaits at Chamonix, where you’ll have the morning at leisure to explore before returning to Geneva.

Head to Milan, the fashion and financial capital of Italy. In Milan, a tour will help you get your bearings, taking in the famous boutiques, cathedrals, and natural attractions. Then take some time to explore on your own, but don’t bother trying to squeeze in a glimpse of The Last Supper. It’s included on the comprehensive da Vinci tour you’ll take the following day. Visit the Sala di Leonardo and see the Atlantic Codex, then skip the line at the Maria delle Grazie to see the famous painting.

Milan

Milan

Milan is a city that arouses extreme feelings, just like the city lifestyle. A frenetic, restless rhythm is part of both work and leisure, so much so that it is difficult to stay unmoved and not get overwhelmed by all the cultural and social stimulus. Maybe for this reason, Milan makes itself indispensable, because it is impossible to feel so alive and full of energy when you are away from the city. Milan is always one step ahead: a laboratory of artistic experiments and a building site for social behavior that is continuously changing. City full of contradictions, ancient and modern, trends and counter-trends, fashion and underground, middle class and working class, but always simply “cool”.

Geneva

Geneva

Geneva is located between the Alps and the Jura mountains, at the extreme southwest of Switzerland and Lake Geneva. The Rhône and the Arve are the main rivers crossing Geneva. It is the central crossroads of Western Europe. Geneva holds a privileged geographical position and it is only one hour far from Paris or Milan by plane and less than two hours from London, Rome or Madrid. Geneva is a town of Arts and Culture. Its numerous museums and libraries, the Opera, the Orchestra of the Suisse romande have largely contributed, among others, to its development. For nearly twenty years they have been new cultural centers which have been created from old uninhabited buildings, some of which are now preserved as monuments, like the Halles de l’Ile, l’Usine, la Maison des Arts du Grütli.

Paris

Paris

Paris, world capital of art and culture, gathers some of the most famous museums and monuments in the world. Like all the world's great capitals, Paris lives at a fast pace, by day, by night and especially at rush hours. Bear in mind that museums and monuments are often less crowded during the week. Sights that should not be missed include: The Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay. Visit any of the many others according to your tastes and interests: the Musee Picasso, Musee Rodin, Musee Carnavalet, Musee Marmottan and the Arab Institute are just a few. Essential Paris monuments are the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame cathedral, the Arc de Triomphe or the Grande Arche de la Defense.
